Questions From Families

What families ask us most.

Don't see your question here? Call dispatch any time of day or night. A real human answers the phone.

An Uber driver is a stranger with a phone. Ours is a trained medical-transit professional who knows your mother's name, her walker, and which door of the cardiology building has the ramp. No surge pricing. No cancellations at 7:58 a.m. No "where is the driver?" panic at the curb. We do not stop at the curb. We walk her in, hand her off at the appointment desk, and text you when she is back in her chair at home.
Family drives are wonderful, until it's the third Tuesday in a row and someone has to leave work. The next fall happens in a parking lot, not a hallway. Our drivers are trained in transfer assists, gait belts, post-op pacing, and oxygen handling. The appointment is rarely the hard part. The forty minutes of waiting, the curb, the stairs, and getting her settled at home afterward are. Let your husband or your brother be your mother's family that day, not her driver.
Yes. We work directly with major NEMT payers and select South Carolina and Georgia Medicaid programs. Call dispatch with your member ID and we'll verify benefits and handle the paperwork on your behalf. Self-pay patients receive transparent flat rates published on this page.
Our drivers carry First Aid and CPR certification, a direct line to our on-call dispatch supervisor, and a documented incident protocol. Every vehicle is covered by $1.5M in commercial auto liability plus medical-payments coverage on every passenger. If there is any cause for concern at all, we contact the family immediately and route to the nearest appropriate care facility.
It usually does. Standard return rides include a 30-minute grace window with no additional fee. Beyond that, your driver waits and the meter runs at $45 per hour in 15-minute increments. For surgery or procedure days, the Wait and Return service is the better fit. Your driver and vehicle stay on site for the full appointment window with no re-dispatch risk.
Always, and at no additional charge. Our Plus-One Free policy is part of every ride. We believe no one should face a medical appointment alone, and we will never separate a patient from a loved one to save a seat.
Our drivers are certified in wheelchair transfers, walker and cane assistance, oxygen-cylinder handling, post-surgical pacing, and basic transfer techniques. Our ADA-accessible coach offers hydraulic lift loading and four-point wheelchair securement. Stretcher transport is available on advance request. We are not a licensed ambulance service. For emergencies, always call 911.
When you book, you provide up to four family contact numbers. Each receives a text thread with pickup confirmation, en route updates, arrival notification, discharge alert, and the home safe confirmation. A dispatcher sends each text personally. No app to download, no account to create.
For routine appointments, 24 hours notice secures your preferred driver. For surgery or procedure-day Wait and Return service, we recommend booking at least 72 hours ahead so the same driver can be dedicated to your full appointment window. Same-day rides are subject to availability. Call dispatch and we'll do everything possible to accommodate.
Most transit companies stop at the curb. We do not. Our driver walks into your home, helps with bags, walker, oxygen, or wheelchair, escorts you to the vehicle, drives you to your appointment, walks you to the appointment desk, and stays close until handoff is complete. On the return ride, we reverse the process. To your front door, settled in, water within reach.
